QLD Monster Shark Warning

You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat

Authorities are warning swimmers  to stay out of the waters off Stradbroke Island, north of Brisbane. Concerns were raised after a 3m great white shark was found with 2 huge bites made by an even larger predatory fish.

Most of our popular beaches are protected by nets – known as drumlines – a series of baited hooks that hang from buoys placed in a line about 500 yards from the shore. While these stop most sharks,  there’s no guarantee’s – so be safe when heading out into deep waters.
