Jamie O’Brien, Reef McIntosh, Hank Gaskell, or Makai McNamara? The best two surfers of the Men’s Pipe Masters Invitational will be awarded wildcards into the 2014 Billabong Pipe Masters. The format is new and almost fully reserved to the Hawaiian contingent. The four finalists of the Men’s Pipe Masters Invitational have been decided in classic Banzai Pipeline tubes. Two athletes will take on Gabriel Medina and Mick Fanning in Round 1. A total of 32 surfers competed in the Trials. Joel Centeio posted the only Perfect 10 of the day for an incredibly deep tube at Backdoor Pipe. Not bad for a retired pro surfer.
