In February 2011, a Big Wave contest in Ireland marked the dawn of a new era. No longer will surfing only be synonymous with sunny tropical islands and sun-kissed beaches of the world. The country’s first big wave surfing contest was called on, despite a different and strange winter. The region is now becoming something of a surfing attraction.
Enter : Mullaghmore Head “A grand place, it’s fantastic,” say the Irish of this, their first premiere surf location on the World Surfing Stage.
All the action, excitement and intrigue will be encapsulated in a soon to be released Documentary ‘High Pressure‘, produced, directed and edited by Dave Mottershead and Daniela Gross, presenting inside views of this groundbreaking event in Irish waters, held at Mullaghmore Head.
