Auckland students will be learning to surf in a three week long programme, which will be staged at Piha Beach on the West Coast of New Zealand. The surfing programme will give 800 students from 15 schools the ultimate chance to hit the waves as the country winds into another summer of fun at the beach. This is a result of a partnership between Surfing New Zealand and ASB Community Trust. The “Have A Go Surfing Days” will take place from the 17th October through to the 7th of November. The project is aimed at Year 8 and below school children who are keen to give surfing a go. Over ten schools from West and South Auckland have already signed up to be part of the action.
