The US Open of Surfing will return to the Californian sands of Huntington Beach, from the 28th July to the 5th August 2012. The best surfers in the world will compete in one of the most prestigious surf events in the globe. The contest held by the local pier attracts over three quarters of a million fans, every year. “It is Surf City and it means a lot for the city when all the guys come to town and get to witness the top guys shred there local waves. For me it’s my home break so it’s a very special event, you always want do well at home and I have had great success over the past few years”, says Brett Simpson. The winner of historic back-to-back US Open of Surfing titles (2009 and 2010) is hoping to donate another standout performance this year with the support of the hometown crowd behind him.
