Helen Hunt is a prolific surfer. “Ride” is her latest film adventure in the big screen. The storyline couldn’t be simpler. A mother travels cross-country to California to be with her son after he decides to drop out of school and become a surfer. In other words, when her son dropped out, she dropped in. Hunt had the idea for the film when she saw a mother surfing in Hawaii.
