It was a marathon of surfing. The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast 2015 has reached the quarterfinals, not without major upsets: Gabriel Medina, Kelly Slater, John John Florence and Joel Parkinson are out of the game. There you go. The quarterfinalists have been decided, and the 2014 world surfing champion will have to sit on the beach watching his four fellow Brazilians still in competition. Interestingly, there are only Australians and Brazilians fighting for the title at Snapper Rocks. Mick Fanning was able to eliminate Dusty Payne in Round 3, and then he went on to win through Round 4 in a stacked heat against Adriano de Souza and Bede Durbidge for a place in the quarterfinals.
