The Peahi Challenge 2015 will get underway on the 22nd January, in Maui, Hawaii. It’s the second event of the Northern Hemisphere season and the third of the 2014/2015 season. The Big Wave Tour (BWT) has raised the green flag. The Peahi Challenge is expecting giant waves as a projected 30-to-40-foot swell prepares to hit the Hawaiian island. “We’ve greenlit the Peahi Challenge for an 8am start on Thursday. The call is to go, but we’ll ultimately assess conditions on Thursday morning to ensure they’re up to standard for the world’s best big wave surfers,” explains Peter Mel, the BWT Commissioner.
