Nic Lamb rode a Perfect 10 wave to claim the 2014 Punta Galea Challenge, in Getxo, Basque Country, Spain. Waves in the 30-40 foot range opened the Northern Hemisphere leg of the 2014/2015 Big Wave World Tour (BWWT) season. Punta Galea was incredibly scary, with huge sets coming in below dark grey rainy skies. Pro big wave surfers transformed fear into commitment. They lost boards to the rocks; they went for impossible duck dives, and they rode giant white water avalanches. Wipeout were spectacular.
