The 2014 Vans US Open of Surfing has entered Round 2, at Huntington Beach Pier, California. South African surfer Beyrick De Vries managed to secure an important place in Round 3, after winning his heat against Mitch Crews, Nathan Yeomans and Miguel Pupo. “When I was out there, it was mellow because I got my two waves very fast and I was able to relax in the last half of the heat. Nate is really good and then with Mitch and Miguel, they’re on the CT, and you know they are going to get scores so I couldn’t relax that much,” says De Vries.
