Mick Fanning used his wave priority perfectly to defeat Trials winner Matt Banting, with multiple trademark in-the-pocket snaps. “A second-round loss is not a great way to start the year, so I just wanted to go out there and push myself and hopefully come out on top,” says Fanning.
