The world’s first public Wavegarden has been granted green light to operate in the United Kingdom. “The Wave: Bristol” will be a reality in Summer 2015. The South Gloucestershire Council has officially approved the construction of “The Wave: Bristol,” a surf park surrounded by gardens, barefoot trails, lakes, foraging areas, and swimming pool. “It’s been a long three years. I can’t believe we’ve finally made it. It’s very emotional,” says Nick Hounsfield, co-founder of the project. “We believe that ‘The Wave’ will have a hugely positive impact on people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities in the local area, in Bristol and further afield.”
