The Bowl Fires as World’s Best Light Up Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach

BELLS BEACH, Victoria/Australia (Thursday, April 5, 2012) – The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by Ford Ranger, the second stop on the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour, enjoyed another full day of action with the world’s best surfers lighting up the clean four-to-six foot (1.5 – 2 metre) waves on offer at Bells Beach.

Kelly Slater Wows Margaret River

SLATER  BREEZES THROUGH FIRST HEAT

The 11-time world champion Kelly Slater wowed the crowds at this week’s Telstra Drug Aware Pro at Margaret River in Western Australia.  The building swell was being pushed onto the reef by strong southwesterly winds for most of the day, requiring some of the competitors to ride slightly bigger boards to cut through the chop.

There’s Nowhere Quite Like Pipe

Hawaii is one of the world’s most famous locations, and for surfers there’s nothing quite like the challenge of Pipe. Owen Wright and the other competitors on the ASP World Tour will face off at surf’s ultimate humbler, as the season draws to a memorable close with the Billabong Pipeline Masters In Memory of Andy Irons. Wright is currently ranked second and will once again be battling  it out with surf’s living legend Kelly Slater, who has six Pipe Masters to his credit.
